Lyle has been at the helm of Idiom as Managing Director since day one - driving forward ideas, buying countless packets of biscuits, and working with all our stakeholders to deliver Bonnie the Beltie. Lyle's passion for all things learning was partly the reason behind the foundation of the #IdiomInitiative, he has already overseen the pilot, and regional roll out of the programme.
Lyle is certainly not know for being shy - and public speaking, well... apparently it comes from his mum!
Lyle was awarded Scottish Managing Director of the Year 2019 by the Institute of Directors at the Young Enterprise Scotland National Final, and Regional Managing Director of the Year 2019 by Young Enterprise - Dumfries & Galloway! Lyle was also awarded Dumfries & Galloway Life Young Achiever of the Year 2019. Lyle has also been shortlisted for the Institute of Directors "South of Scotland Company Director of the Year 2020"
Kira pulls all the purse strings in Idiom; taking lead as Financial Director - having filled the role for over two years. Kira has already been highly involved in the #IdiomInitiative, delivering workshops in schools across Dumfries and Galloway - with a particular focus on Financial Management - as well as being a major advocate for growth and company development!
Working with all our Directors, Kira ensures we can provide the best quality of products at an affordable prices to all our customers: and ensuring the deliver a cost effective programme in the Idiom Initiative
Megan has been with Idiom since day one, having first acted as Company Secretary: she now fills the role of Product Director, and leads on all product development and the #IdiomInitiative. Already a on-time joint author with 'Bonnie the Beltie', Megan released her second book - 'Ben's Big Adventure' in December 2019. She is perfectly equipt to grow the Product Portfolio of Idiom - and her experience delivering #IdiomInitiative workshops is second to none.
Megan loves dancing and has done so since she was a child. She also loves adventure, and is a true philanthropist - having spent 4 weeks in July/August 2019 working in Kenya with Camps International to rebuild infrastructure and provide a better life to many struggling in poverty: alongside a group from Dumfries and Galloway.
Ruairi leads everything related to Sales, having taken up post as Sales Director in August 2019. Ruairi has been involved with Idiom for some time, having previously worked with previous Director Lois Horton, and overseen all our distribution deals since January 2019 - as well as delivering several #IdiomInitiative workshops across Dumfries and Galloway, and being a major advocate for the programme.
In his spare time Ruairi thrives at being involved with many productions at the Theatre Royal (the oldest working theatre in scotland) throughout the year; as well as being a long standing member of the The Guild of Players, in addition to this he has recently taken up ‘Halberdier’ duties at the annual Guid Nychburris Festivities. Ruairi is also the lead guitarist for local band The Fuzzkills.
Jenna is responsible for the delivery of our Business Development Plan - including the growth of both the Business, as well as the Idiom Initiative. Jenna has been at the forefront of the business for a large proportion of our journey: having taken a step back from the business in May 2019: she is now delighted to be back.
Jenna is also responsible for working with all our Tourism Partners - ensuring that we are able to meet their expectations and work to promote Dumfries and Galloway in the best light possible.
In her spare time, Jenna is a keen Young Farmer: and is often seen taking part in their many social events throughout the year - as well as showing her prize winning Suffolk Sheep.
